In questo volume della serie “Walking in the footsteps of ....” sono prese in esame le linee di basso di Paul Chambers bassista caposcuola e importante sideman di leggende del jazz quali Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Benny Golson ect.
Lo scopo è quello di studiare queste linee come modelli da copiare e utilizzare per poter con il tempo sviluppare un proprio personale approccio agli standard.
Il volume è composto di 23 trascrizioni dalle sue registrazioni con Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery, Red Garland, Lee Morgan, Sonny Clark, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley & altri, trascritte solo in notazione tradizionale.
In appendice troviamo una dettagliata discografia con tutte le indicazione per poter reperire tutte le registrazioni originali relative alle varie trascrizioni.
