Playable by bands ranging in size from 9 to 17 players, this swingin', uptempo feature for solo tenor sax is reminiscent of the hard-driving flag-wavers performed by the Lionel Hampton and Count Basie bands featuring sax greats Illinois Jacquet and Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis. Though it isn't strictly a blues tune, it's loaded with blues harmonies. Scales for improvisation are specified in Greg's letter to directors on the score cover, and a guitar chord chart by Jim Greeson is included with each performance set.
