The tangos of Brazilian pianist/composer Ernesto Julio de Nazareth combine elements of European dances such as the polka and Latin-American forms including the maxixe. There are unmistakable syncopations of Scott Joplin's ragtime and, of cource, the cosmopolitan choros of his native Rio.
These diverse sources of Nazareth melded into a style that is both uniquely personal and quintessentially of his time and place. Written in standard notation and tablature.
